Holy Ground

path to success to the top. Concept achieving goals, route climbing top mountain. Mountain journey route with flag to peak.

by Laura St. Louis, DTM

“the time will come that you
run out of map for the road
you’ve been taking to
get where you go.

& what then?
you create.
you step beyond the
borders of the paper square
you once thought held
the whole world.
you stretch your legs & run, let new air fill your lungs.

the unknown may be
filled with unspeakable
fright, unmatchable beauty,
but whatever it holds,
you are free.

you are free, & you
must keep moving.
maps don’t lead to
Holy Ground.”

Fellow Toastmasters,

Recently I asked all of you to imagine what you wanted your clubs to embody. That included fun, education, and encouraging growth. The above poem encourages us to reach beyond the comfortable because extending ourselves is the best way to grow. Have you considered in which areas you want to grow?

The District is looking for leaders for the coming year. Roles available include Area Directors, Division Directors, and Administration Manager among others. If you are ready to move beyond club leadership and grow into the “Holy Ground,” then contact Laura St. Louis at to learn more.

Leaders Wanted: Do You Know Someone?

Teamwork. Leadership concept, business team climbing on economic graph. Successful work vector illustration. Businessman on graph, leadership teamwork

Let’s encourage one another and help each other grow. We all have our goals and need help in professional development. Become a leader and see how fast you can advance to reach those goals. Contact the upcoming District Director for 2023-24 Laura St. Louis:
